Grains

With over 200,000 MTS traded annually, grains make up the majority of our annual turnover. Our primary grains of trade are Maize and Wheat. Maize is used in the Animal Feed and Starch industries and was one of the first commodities that the company had started trading over 30 years ago. Wheat is either exported or imported depending on prevalent market conditions. Bajra and Jowar are some of the other grains that we trade and are either used in animal feed production or directly milled for human consumption.

Oilseeds

Our primary focus on oilseeds is Soya. We not only trade in the domestic variant, but also import from Black Sea and LDC origin countries. India’s consumption of Soya based protein and oil have been rising steadily for over a decade with new origin markets finding parity in trading with us. Other oilseeds we trade from time to time include Sunflower and Rapeseed.

Pulses

Having started our pulses portfolio almost a decade ago, we now annually trade around 50,000MT of pulses with Yellow Peas being the highest volume followed by Dun Peas, Chickpeas and Green Peas. India is the world's largest consumer of pulses but produces only a fraction of its requirement locally. Pulses have proved to be a steady and viable business opportunity in India.

Extractions

One of our more niche commodities is extractions. Soya De-Oiled Cake (DOC) and Rice Bran Extraction that are used primarily in the poultry and cattle feed industries. These byproducts of oilseeds after they are crushed are a great source of protein. India has a good international presence in exporting DOC with sometimes upto half of our Soya DOC being exported.
